Impact of Good Nutrition in Transformation - Healthy Meals

Why do we eat more in cold weather? The cold weather drops our body temperature and our appetites become more stimulated as a result. And eating generates heat... therefore leading to a rise in body temperature! It's a vicious cycle.

Holidays: With the upcoming holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years, we find ourselves socializing more which leads to more alcohol consumption, consuming comfort foods, and sweets heavily laden with calories.

Primitive Instinct: Long ago when we were hunting and gathering, we would increase our caloric intake as the days got shorter and colder. We tend to seek out food and eat it faster during the sunlight hours.

It's cold outside: And we're just trying to stay warm! A giant bowl of mashed potatoes and hearty stew would keep us warmer than light salads?

We just want comfort: Cold days take an emotional toll on all of us in one way or another. We just want to snuggle up at home with a bowl of pasta, a bottle of wine, and binge watch Netflix.

We're going to eat regardless. What should we be eating then?

Truth is, you're not going to read this email and stop eating comfort foods. So here's a list of some delicious recipes we've compiled that are both comforting and nutritious.

Ceviche - if you haven’t made ceviche before, you are in for a treat! It is super easy to make and it is packed full of protein. Click here for the recipe.

Lentil Baked Ziti- it's cheesy, it's protein packed with lentils, and you can make this vegetarian or vegan. Click here for the recipe.
